Offenders are likely to be sentenced jail with additional penalty of Dh500,000
In the UAE, creating or managing a platform that provides the user’s information related to human trafficking will be punished with a Dh1 million fine.
In a recent article, the Public Prosecution highlighted that operating websites that trade in human organs or enable human trafficking could result in being jailed and a fine of at least Dh500,000.
“Anyone who creates, manages or monitors a website or publishes information or information network or information technology resources for the purpose of human trafficking or trade in human organs or illicit transactions therein. shall be punished with temporary imprisonment and/or monetary fine. Not less than five hundred thousand dirhams (AED500,000) and not more than one million dirhams (AED 1,000,000).”
