Several months after the Google I/O conference in May, we are only a few weeks away from presenting its new products. The big exhibition will take place tomorrow, October 6. One of its star products to be promoted is, without a doubt, the new Pixel 7. We know that the new Google Pixel 7 will now use the second-generation Tensor chip, allowing artificial intelligence and machine learning to be further expanded in applications.
As we have mentioned, Google has selected the event date on October 6 to show off its new hardware. It is expected to be a familiar but evolved design.
Possible release date and departure of the Google Pixel 7
Google has set the date of October 6 to present its new products.
Among the entire list of products that are going to be advertised, without a doubt, the most anticipated are the Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, and Pixel Watch. The release date is expected to be in the fall.
The presentation will be held at 10 am ET in Brooklyn. The Google event will be about a month after Apple’s presentation, in which, we already know, the iPhone 14 was released. This could end in a showdown between the iPhone 14 and the Pixel 7.
Google Pixel 7 price
Google hasn’t mentioned anything related to price yet, but it’s expected to stick to the approximate price of the Pixel 6. It is speculated that it will keep the price secret until its launch in the fall.
Google has been characterized by maintaining a cheaper price than its competitors. For example, the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro prices are $599 and $899, respectively, nearly $200 cheaper than the Galaxy S22, which starts at $799. And much cheaper if you buy the second-hand Google Pixel 6 at Cash Converters, with a two-year warranty (although we think you won’t need it).
Although sometimes we insist on getting the latest technology, the truth is that we do not have to have the latest model to enjoy a good mobile. Sometimes the changes between an older and a newer model are not very significant: the design varies a bit, and there is a slight performance improvement in certain applications or a better quality camera.
What we want to get at is that it is not mandatory to buy the latest model to be able to enjoy the latest technology. In addition, the good quality of materials with which mobile phones are built makes buying a second-hand mobile more and more common. With this, we will not only make the price drop drastically, but we will be able to remedy the technological contamination partially.
If you want to help your pocket and continue enjoying Google products, we leave you second-hand Google Pixel mobiles at a very affordable price.
Google Pixel 7 models
At the Google I/O conference, Google assured us we would see a Pixel 7 and a Pixel 7 Pro in the fall. Most people thought those would be the only two models Google would release, but there are some indications that there may be a third model of the Pixel 7.
Sure enough, we’re talking about the alleged Pixel 7 Ultra. Until Google pulls out more evidence of its existence, we will continue to assume that only two models will be released this fall.
Like the Pixel 6 Pro, the Pixel 7 Pro will have a 120Hz screen. The main difference will be that its height and width will be slightly larger than the previous model.
Apart from the two insured models (normal and pro), two versions will allow sub-6Ghz and mmWave 5G compatibility with different operators.
Google Pixel 7 design
Thanks to the images that Google published in its last event, we have a fairly close idea of what the design of the Pixel 7 will be like.
The Pixel 7 will keep the front camera of the Pixel 6 but with a few slight changes; the main camera and the ultra-wide camera will be grouped. In the case of the Pixel 7 Pro, one of the lenses is separate from the rest, which we assume is the telephoto lens.
The video Google posted of the Pixel 7 shows that the phone is slightly more compact than the Pixel 6. The video shows that the Pixel 6 is 74.93mm wide, while the Pixel 7 is 73.2mm. It should also be noted that the Pixel 7 has lost weight compared to its predecessor, about 10 grams.
As for the Pixel 7 pro, there is barely 1 gram of difference, although it is true that, in terms of width, it is slightly wider, going from 75.89 mm to 76.68 mm.
Regarding the colors, it has been rumored that the base color of the Pixel 7 will be black, although it is also available in white, coral, and blue. There has been no infiltration. Nothing is known about the Pixel 7 Pro on this subject.
We can assume that the Pixel 7 Pro will be physically identical to the Pixel 6 Pro. The most noticeable changes could be on the device’s rear, with the updated camera bar and cutout design.
Specifications and features of the Google Pixel 7
According to direct information provided by Google, it is known that they will implement a second-generation Tensor chipset, the continuation of the first-generation Tensor found in the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. Google has not given any idea of what this new generation of chips can do but expects performance gains and power efficiency improvements. This will greatly enhance the AI experience powered by the machine learning core.
Rumors have it that Google will not change its cameras compared to the Pixel 6. If this is true, it will mean that the Pixel 7 will come with a 50MP main camera and a 12MP wide-angle shooter. As for the Pixel 7 Pro, it will boost those features with a 48MP telephoto lens.
Even if the camera hardware doesn’t change, Google will most likely add new features using a combination of computational photography powered by the improved Tensor chip.
The Pixel 7 will reduce its size to 6.3 inches, which is 0.1 inches smaller than the Pixel 6. However, the Pixel 7 Pro will maintain the same dimensions as the Pixel 6 Pro.
According to a report from 9to5Google, the screens of the new series will be similar to the sixth series with some slight tweaks. The most important could be the change the Pixel 7 Pro will undergo on its screen, going from 1080 to 2K to save energy.
Although the Pixel 7 Pro uses a different screen than its predecessor, the resolution (3120 x 1440) and refresh rate range (10 – 120 Hz) do not change. The screen’s brightness will undergo a big change: in its default configuration, the Pixel 7 Pro would reach 600 nits. In the activated brightness mode, you can reach 1,000 nits.
What fans want from the Google Pixel 7
As everyone knows, hope is the last thing lost, and Pixel users still have a wish list.
- A better fingerprint reader. The previous model was Google’s first attempt to implement this technology. The result was an unreliable fingerprint scanner. Solving the problems of the current optical reader is one of the things most desired by its users.
- Improve the brightness of your screens. This is another of the defects found by users in the previous model. Google has gifted the Pixel 6 series with some incredibly dim displays, even when cranked to full brightness. We have already mentioned that Google will increase the nits of their screens, so we hope this problem will be solved for good.
- Yet another camera for the base Pixel 7. By default, Google has left only two cameras on the Pixel 6, one of the high-end mobile models with fewer rear cameras. The most anticipated solution is that they include a third camera to the base Pixel 7 along with a telephoto lens, although its increase does not correspond to the x4 optical zoom of the pro model.
- Longer battery life. While the Pixel 6 generally has considerable battery life, it falls ridiculously short when connected to the internet via 5G. This will become an increasing problem as 5G networks normalize.
- Faster charging. A function that is becoming more and more common in new mobiles. The Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro can charge up to 30W wired and 23W wireless. If we pass it for practical purposes, in 30 minutes, hardly 30% would be charged.
